Kick that cold immunity boosting green juice

I always drink real food medicine! Seriously it's very very rare for me to take any kind of pharmaceuticals, ever.  Unless you have some morphine to share... just kidding!!

I've had lots of kiddos missing school lately, and all the germs finally got me a little. And we all know what it's like when a gutsy girl is down... autoimmune hot mess! I knew I needed to rest or it would be bad.

I took the afternoon off and spent it diffusing onguard, hydrating like nobody's business, napping, watching Bruce Springsteen live, juicing some good stuff, sipping tea, practicing some restorative yoga, making chicken soup, and cuddling my dog.  Perfect day of recovery!

One of the best things I could do for myself today was legs up the wall with a straw in my mouth sipping this stuff while the boss serenaded me with some acoustic thunder road!

Try it if you need to kick some tough germ ass too!

1 c Kale

1 c spinach

1 lime- peeled

1 lemon- peeled

1 carrot-

2 oranges- peeled

2 cucumbers

4 in ginger

1/2 t turmeric- if you have fresh 2in is even better!

Pinch of cayenne pepper

Throw all the fresh stuff in your juicer.  I add the turmeric and cayenne after and then hit it with the hand blender to get it all incorporated.

I'm warning you this is a should we say "acquired taste"! 😂. Just focus on all the good it's doing inside your body and sing along to the song! ðŸ˜‰ðŸŽ¶

Celery and Ginger Juice

Celery juice is most amazing!

• kicks autoimmune condition ass
• calms skin conditions
• purifies the blood
• helps digestion... Yay!
• reduces the effects of stress hormones... thank you!
• lowers blood pressure... papa you have some celery juice coming at ya just FYI... 😉

I don't need to ramble anymore about it...
Just read this post from Dr. Anthony William, aka the Medical Medium.   He has more cred than I do, and his books are super informative and interesting.  I soak up everything he has to say.  Food is medicine (or poison) guys! For real... Living, breathing proof right here!

Please just read the books and drink the juice! 😉

I added some extras to his original recipe just because I wanted more greens, flavor, and I always, always want ginger!

Celery and Ginger Juice

1 bunch celery
1 cucumber
1 bag spinach
2 inches fresh ginger
1 lemon- peeled

Juice it all and enjoy! If it's too celeryish for you add an extra cucumber and maybe an apple to tone it down a bit.

This makes more than you necessarily need at one time.  I wish I had time to make fresh juice every morning but I just don't...so I make enough for a few days.  I know, I know, it loses nutritents as it sits, but whatever... I'm making an effort and I feel good so who the f cares.  Day-old juice is better than no juice in my opinion! Just drink your veggies my friends!

Gingerbread should have real ginger, and be gluten and dairy free!

I keep gushing ginger love at you... ginger tea, ginger in my smoothies, ginger on my chicken, ginger in my cocktails, and now these cookies!!

What can I say??.... REAL ginger is seriously a gutsy girl's best friend!

Real gingerbread cookies

1 T Flax seed meal + 3 T water
2 C Almond flour
1/2 C GF all purpose flour
1 t cinnamon
1 t ground ginger
1/2 t nutmeg
1/4 t cloves
1/4 t cardamom
1 t baking soda
1/4 t sea salt
1/2 C coconut oil
1/2 C coconut sugar
1/4 C molasses
1 T fresh grates ginger
1 t vanilla

Mix the water and flax and let sit to thicken.  In a small bowl combine the flours, spices, baking soda, and salt.  In another bowl mix the coconut oil, sugar, molasses, vanilla, and fresh ginger.  Stir in the flax mixture.  Slowly add the dry mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.  Refrigerate for half an hour.  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place tablespoon sized balls on it.  Refrigerate for 20 minutes.  Preheat over to 350 and bake for 10 minutes.  The cookies will be super soft so make sure to let them set up as they cool.
